Fall is offically here!

Fall is my favorite season! I love it! The warm wind... The rustic colors... The boots... Dark lipstick, layers, scarves... I could go on like this FOREVER. But I won't...

Fall actually started on the 22nd of September. Being in Kuwait... it doesn't feel like Fall yet. The mornings feel great though... It is still a bit HOT in the day time around LUNCH.

The holiday season really kicks off in the Fall and it makes me miss home!

Being overseas it is hard to decorate... bake... Cook... DECORATE! Awh depression! Being that I am a MINI Martha Stewart I really enjoy doing these things!

I love to also get the kids involved. They seem to really LOVE it!

I know that this FALL is my LAST Fall in the desert! So I am hoping that we will do more Arabic type Fall activities! The picnics, tea time in the Desert, 4 wheelers... Camping... ETC, ETC!

I found pictures for the MAC beautiful COLORS on this BLOG: HERE

Simple to SEXY!

I saw this and thought WOW! What an idea!!! So I am sharing it! I would wear a tank under mine! I am going to try this out and see how it works for me! I do have a lot of TEE Shirts... And I can't wear them to work... SO- Why not!?
In this tutorial we will show you how to add some glam to an ordinary t-shirt. Of course this technique could be applied to any other shirt you find suitable.
Start with a shirt, scissors, a ruler and a marker .
b9724d16375dba5f92c85ddd4193e918
1.Cut the neckline of the shirt(if it is low neck, you can cut only the back side)
2.Fold the shirt in half, but be sure to fold only the back part. Use a marker and a ruler to draw a triangle which will actually be weaved area.
3.Then start cutting the strips – each should be with the size of a thumb – no need to be perfect, so don`t worry. But don`t forget to follow the triangle in order to achieve the desired result.
4,5,6 -When you are done pull each string aside to make them tiny and rolled up
7,8,9 Start weaving with the second string – flip it under the first string then put your fingers into the hole and pick up the third string, then put the fingers inside the new hole and grab the next string. Continue doing so until you reach the end. Pull the strings side  from time to time to avoid having your fingers stuck into the hole.   It might sound difficult if explained like this, but actually it is pretty easy.
10. When you reach the end, cut the string in half and tie it very well and you are ready

What do you think? Pretty huh?

****UPDATE****
So I actually attempted this when I got home... Mims and Me!
Scissors, Ruler and marker... CHECK!
I didn't make the triangle far enough down... And when you are weaving the strings it seems a bit tricky... My shirt came out okay...  Practice makes PERFECT!

30 Things to Stop Doing

I saw this and I thought: "Wow, This is GREAT advise! I must share on my blog!"

Please take time to read this and try these things out! Do not be so hard on yourself. No one is perfect, it is ok to make mistakes!!!
When you stop chasing the wrong things you give
the right things a chance to catch you.

As Maria Robinson once said, “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”  Nothing could be closer to the truth.  But before you can begin this process of transformation you have to stop doing the things that have been holding you back.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  1. Stop spending time with the wrong people. – Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.  If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you.  You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot.  Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth.  And remember, it’s not the people that stand by your side when you’re at your best, but the ones who stand beside you when you’re at your worst that are your true friends.
  2. Stop running from your problems. – Face them head on.  No, it won’t be easy.  There is no person in the world capable of flawlessly handling every punch thrown at them.  We aren’t supposed to be able to instantly solve problems.  That’s not how we’re made.  In fact, we’re made to get upset, sad, hurt, stumble and fall.  Because that’s the whole purpose of living – to face problems, learn, adapt, and solve them over the course of time.  This is what ultimately molds us into the person we become.
  3. Stop lying to yourself. – You can lie to anyone else in the world, but you can’t lie to yourself.  Our lives improve only when we take chances, and the first and most difficult chance we can take is to be honest with ourselves.  Read The Road Less Traveled.
  4. Stop putting your own needs on the back burner. – The most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much, and forgetting that you are special too.  Yes, help others; but help yourself too.  If there was ever a moment to follow your passion and do something that matters to you, that moment is now.
  5. Stop trying to be someone you’re not. – One of the greatest challenges in life is being yourself in a world that’s trying to make you likeeveryone else.  Someone will always be prettier, someone will always be smarter, someone will always be younger, but they will never be you.  Don’t change so people will like you.  Be yourself and the right people will love the real you.
  6. Stop trying to hold onto the past. – You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading your last one.
  7. Stop being scared to make a mistake. – Doing something and getting it wrong is at least ten times more productive than doing nothing.  Every success has a trail of failures behind it, and every failure is leading towards success.  You end up regretting the things you did NOT do far more than the things you did.
  8. Stop berating yourself for old mistakes. – We may love the wrong person and cry about the wrong things, but no matter how things go wrong, one thing is for sure, mistakes help us find the person and things that are right for us.  We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past.  But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future.  Every single thing that has ever happened in your life is preparing you for a moment that is yet to come.
  9. Stop trying to buy happiness. – Many of the things we desire are expensive.  But the truth is, the things that really satisfy us are totally free – love, laughter and working on our passions.
  10. Stop exclusively looking to others for happiness. – If you’re not happy with who you are on the inside, you won’t be happy in a long-term relationship with anyone else either.  You have to create stability in your own life first before you can share it with someone else.  Read Stumbling on Happiness.
  11. Stop being idle. – Don’t think too much or you’ll create a problem that wasn’t even there in the first place.  Evaluate situations and take decisive action.  You cannot change what you refuse to confront.  Making progress involves risk.  Period!  You can’t make it to second base with your foot on first.
  12. Stop thinking you’re not ready. – Nobody ever feels 100% ready when an opportunity arises.  Because most great opportunities in life force us to grow beyond our comfort zones, which means we won’t feel totally comfortable at first.
  13. Stop getting involved in relationships for the wrong reasons. – Relationships must be chosen wisely.  It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company.  There’s no need to rush.  If something is meant to be, it will happen – in the right time, with the right person, and for the best reason. Fall in love when you’re ready, not when you’re lonely.
  14. Stop rejecting new relationships just because old ones didn’t work. – In life you’ll realize that there is a purpose for everyone you meet.  Some will test you, some will use you and some will teach you.  But most importantly, some will bring out the best in you.
  15. Stop trying to compete against everyone else. – Don’t worry about what others are doing better than you.  Concentrate on beating your own records every day.  Success is a battle between YOU and YOURSELF only.
  16. Stop being jealous of others. – Jealousy is the art of counting someone else’s blessings instead of your own.  Ask yourself this:  “What’s something I have that everyone wants?”
  17. Stop complaining and feeling sorry for yourself. – Life’s curveballs are thrown for a reason – to shift your path in a direction that is meant for you.  You may not see or understand everything the moment it happens, and it may be tough.  But reflect back on those negative curveballs thrown at you in the past.  You’ll often see that eventually they led you to a better place, person, state of mind, or situation.  So smile!  Let everyone know that today you are a lot stronger than you were yesterday, and you will be.
  18. Stop holding grudges. – Don’t live your life with hate in your heart.  You will end up hurting yourself more than the people you hate.  Forgiveness is not saying, “What you did to me is okay.”  It is saying, “I’m not going to let what you did to me ruin my happiness forever.”  Forgiveness is the answer… let go, find peace, liberate yourself!  And remember, forgiveness is not just for other people, it’s for you too.  If you must, forgive yourself, move on and try to do better next time.
  19. Stop letting others bring you down to their level. – Refuse to lower your standards to accommodate those who refuse to raise theirs.
  20. Stop wasting time explaining yourself to others. – Your friends don’t need it and your enemies won’t believe it anyway.  Just do what you know in your heart is right.
  21. Stop doing the same things over and over without taking a break. – The time to take a deep breath is when you don’t have time for it.  If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.  Sometimes you need to distance yourself to see things clearly.
  22. Stop overlooking the beauty of small moments. – Enjoy the little things, because one day you may look back and discover they were the big things.  The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.
  23. Stop trying to make things perfect. – The real world doesn’t reward perfectionists, it rewards people who get things done.  Read Getting Things Done.
  24. Stop following the path of least resistance. – Life is not easy, especially when you plan on achieving something worthwhile.  Don’t take the easy way out.  Do something extraordinary.
  25. Stop acting like everything is fine if it isn’t. – It’s okay to fall apart for a little while.  You don’t always have to pretend to be strong, and there is no need to constantly prove that everything is going well.  You shouldn’t be concerned with what other people are thinking either – cry if you need to – it’s healthy to shed your tears.  The sooner you do, the sooner you will be able to smile again.
  26. Stop blaming others for your troubles. – The extent to which you can achieve your dreams depends on the extent to which you take responsibility for your life.  When you blame others for what you’re going through, you deny responsibility – you give others power over that part of your life.
  27. Stop trying to be everything to everyone. – Doing so is impossible, and trying will only burn you out.  But making one person smile CAN change the world.  Maybe not the whole world, but their world.  So narrow your focus.
  28. Stop worrying so much. – Worry will not strip tomorrow of its burdens, it will strip today of its joy.  One way to check if something is worth mulling over is to ask yourself this question: “Will this matter in one year’s time?  Three years?  Five years?”  If not, then it’s not worth worrying about.
  29. Stop focusing on what you don’t want to happen. – Focus on what you do want to happen.  Positive thinking is at the forefront of every great success story.  If you awake every morning with the thought that something wonderful will happen in your life today, and you pay close attention, you’ll often find that you’re right.
  30. Stop being ungrateful. – No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life.  Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.  Instead of thinking about what you’re missing, try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.

Killing my MONSTER addiction

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Monster Energy Drinks! It is almost SAD!
I have to drink one EVERY day! Sometimes I drink 2 a day! I just love them!

Guess what Amber? You have to STOP drinking them! When I do not have one… I feel like I have a HEADACHE and I NEED one!
So- What I have done is… I am only drinking ONE a day… Until the case that Hubzy got for me is gone. I was reading that HIGH caffeine intake is not good when you are trying to have a baby… So- I have to do what is right. I have to KILL the MONSTER can!

I started drinking Monster when I was in Bagram, Afghanistan. A co-worker named Jason bought me one. I have been drinking one every morning since then. I know a lot of people drink coffee, tea or soda… But my only want in the beginning of my day is MONSTER… The GREEN MONSTER! I like the Yellow and the Orange as well. But the Green Monster has me by my taste buds! I have to "Unleash the Beast"

Dream job: Working at Monster or an Apple Store!

Just Kidding!

Good Bye Monster! I shall save 2.25 a day from here on out!
But if you are looking for them in KUWAIT... I see that the Sultan Center carries them... The Shaka Bakala does as well. Those are about the only places that I can find them!

Wait for it...

Waiting… Waiting… Waiting… Waiting…

I was in the U.S. Army- I know all about HURRY up… and WAIT game.
This is absolutely NERVE WRECKING!

Waiting for the NEXT STEP.
My next step is my PERIOD. My monthly visitor, Aunt Flow!!!
All my life I hated getting my period… And now I am actually praying it will come on ALREADY!!!

I have been tracking my period for about a year now! I LOVE this APP!
So now I am waiting and I have 8 days per my TRACKER!
Lil flowers pop up when you are fertile and you can tell what day you are ovulating as well! Why spend money on too many Ovulation Detectors... Just get the APP!

It tracks the past periods... and let's you know when the next one should be coming! This App is great! Things like this make the BOARDER LINE OCD person completely HAPPY!!!

To Tell or Not to Tell? That is the Question!

Many times when people are going through IVF, they do not know who should know. So who should you tell?

1.        Tell your DIRECT supervisor! I have a lot of management in my office, but I only told ONE of my managers.

2.        CLOSE friends… I have only told a handful of people. (And who ever reads the blog) //We have also told the kids!!!//

3.        I HAVE NOT told my family… But we have told Gustavo’s Mother.

Now here are the reasons:
-      Tell your boss because you may be moody with the meds that you are taking. Also because there is a possibility that you will be missing a lot of work. You do not want them to think that you do NOT have a valid reason. I have my doctor give me a sick note, even though I am not asked for it. Just to be on the SAFE side
-      Tell people that care about you and want you happy. They will have a positive energy that will make life a bit LESS stressful. Talk to them and share what you are going thru. One minute you may be crying and the next minute… laughing.
-      I have NOT told my family because I am SCARED to fail. I would hate to get everyone all excited and then have the worst happen.

Now this is just my outlook. You do not have to do it “MY” way. This is just how WE have done it.

I know you may be thinking… How is it a secret if it is on a blog? And the answer is: It isn’t a secret… and I just want to remember EVERY lil piece of this voyage! It is hard to find out a lot of good info on the process!

Moving to the Tampa Area

Oh the time is nearing! It is time to CLOSE on the house. We decided to move to the Tampa Area.

I am a FloridianJ And I LOVE my Sunshine State! After a LOT of research; we chose TAMPA.

Why???

Well- Here are our TOP ten reasons:

1.  They have a NFL Team

2.  They have a MLB Team

3.  Theme Parks

4.  Beaches

5.  Good central location (close to Orlando, Miami and my hometown too)

6.  Military Contractors J

7.  MacDill AFB

8.  International Airport

9.  I think that the job market looks pretty promising!

10.        It is FLORIDA!!!

The house should be done in November! We are excited. We have been buying a lot for the house. We try to knock out a little every time that we get paid. I know that we will be busy so I do not want to have to be stressed out doing a lot of other things that need to be done as well. I would like to just close on the house… And start decorating and unpacking! Enjoy a bit of time with my family as I cannot recall how long it has been since we have been in Florida… I want to say…maybe since Mims was 2! So that is 5 years!!! Wow! Time has been FLYING!

September 18th 2013- Hysteroscopy

What a day! I took 2 pills at 0700... And then to the doctor at 0800. Me and Karina sat there until 0830 when they assigned me a room...
***Make sure you shave ANYTIME you are about to go and get a procedure done!*** (I learned that the HARD way this morning... I met a razor with only 2 blades, I didm't know that they still made those!!!)
The nurse was RUSHING me... Then I get to the surgery floor... And they said that there was a couple of emergencies.... So... Back to my room. I went back around 1115. They had me staged with two other women... They took me first though!:) Once in the operating room... They positioned me on a special bed where the end of the bed comes off. They had me put my legs up around a black pole on each side and then my feet into stirrups. I promise I felt like an ANIMAL at this very moment. Finally they covered me up as I was out in the open for all 20 people in there to see my... "PocketBook"! I looked over to my right side and saw the man who was going to put me to sleep. He gave me Propofol. It looked like Milk! Within 15-30 seconds... I was KNOCKED OUT! I woke up in the recovery room. I was taken back to my room. I looked down at my "PocketBook" and saw that there was Iodine all over down there. So I went to the bathroom to clean myself up. I drank a little bit and then waited for the doctor to come in. Once she did... She gave me medicine (antibiotics to avoid infection) I was given Flagyl 400 mg, Doxycycline 100 mg, Flucozal 150 mg and Warimazol Vag 200 mg (That is a tablet that I have to insert into my "Pocketbook" for 3 days.)
Karina came and picked me up and we went to grab something to eat. I was about 1330 by then. When she pulled up to my villa, I told her my head hurt and I felt like I would be sick...
Oh My GAWDDD!!! I threw up everything that I ate... AND some. It was so painful! I just kept heaving! Not the best experience! I couldn't stop and my head was killing me! Talking was painful! And I was shaking cold!!! I felt like I was freezing!
I finally fell asleep and then I was up at 1700 to go back to the doctor. I took Mims with me and I didn't have to wait long. Although I know there was a LOT of people that were there before me! (Thank you!!!) I spoke to the doctor. He gave me a prescription for my injections and for folic acid. I asked him what were my statistics of getting pregnant now that he has had a look... He said 60%! I think that is good! As long as it keeps rising!
I got my prescriptions and then came back up to get my first injection. It was not so bad. I have to take one injection for 21 days in my arms. Alternate arms everyday. So I have a LOT of medicine to take for the next week... And then injections. I have to go back after my period starts. The second day of my period, that will be the NEXT STEP!
Thanks Karina!!! I appreciate having our GIRL time and you taking care of me today!!!
Here are a couple of pictures that I took today!

What is a "HATER"?

I decided to look this up... And see what a HATER is...
HATER: a person who hates.
Well- that is a simple definition.
Let me look at IMAGES... I didn't see a PERSON.
Hmmm.
Strange.
Would a hater STEAL a picture of a HOTTIE and send it to all of their friends with a crazy caption??? Or make FAKE FaceBooks??? Or even worse... Fake Myspace Accounts with someone else's picture??? Or take screen shots of the real person's profile then go and Group chat???
Does that make a person a HATER?
I think so.

So here is my definition of a HATER:
-Someone who is not happy with themselves, so they talk about other people all of the time. They have to have large groups of people around them to try and make themselves feel valued or important.

I found this on another BLOG... from way back in 2010 Get Rid of Hater TIPS

This is how you get rid of HATERS... (No, there is not a spray) I looked! LMAO!
1. Keep your business to yourself…people can’t hate on what they don’t know; well not  effectively.
2. Put distance between you and your haters…if your haters are friends with your friends…tell your friends you don’t care to know what such & such is saying as  it doesn’t make a difference in your life & they should find something better to do with their time.
3. Applaud your haters & stop them dead in their tracks by saying you agree with everything their saying about you. LOL There’s no where to go from there but STOP!
Hopefully one of these 3 easy techniques will help rid you of your haters or at the very least reduce them.
Good Luck!
And here is a note to my HATERS (One in particular)
Dear Envious Beast-
My Life is beautiful! You can share it with whomever...
Make positive progression towards perfection... Love yourself... Learn that you cannot talk your way out of everything... You have plenty of time, Go to the GYM... Work out that aggression... And know I am not thinking about you. And YES, I am beautiful. You are just making me famous on Camp Arifjan by showing me off:) I have an awesome FAMILY and someone to go home to! Contracting is NOT my life. Neither is drinking, drugs and sleeping with RANDOM Nobodies!!! Look at yourself before you look at me... Because I could unload ALL of your mess and destroy you the same way you are trying to destroy me... I just CHOSE not to!

THANK YOU!
PS- Now I have PLENTY of time to BLOG... But so do you! (BITE, BITE, BITE)
God Bless you!
-With Lots of Love~XOXO~ Amber Dawn Banegas...

Here are some Nicki Minaj Quotes... I knew I wasn't the only person this was happening to! You are NOT the first and will not be my last!

Another Shooting in America...

I think it is a bit ironic how my family and friends at home wonder WHY I would come over to the Middle East and bring the kids here too...

Look at all the stuff going on in America!!! The job market is SHABBY! People are shooting up schools, randomly making home-made bombs and all kinds of CRAZINESS...

The only thing that I am really scared about in Kuwait is... DRIVING! There are some CRAZY drivers here.

The most recent shooting: WASHINGTON DC
He is still on the run.
Hmmm. SMH...

Read from the Herald Sun here

Miss America... She is Indian, SO WHAT!!!

If I could SAVE the World...

Sittng in my office, I hear CNN ALL DAY LONG! CNN International is NOT like CNN in America!

It is far less sensored.

It shows dead bodies... and EVERYTHING...

If I could change the World...

Here are a couple things that I would start with right away:

1. Stop letting CHILDREN get married.
- Mimi is 7 years old... I could not, FOR NO AMOUNT OF MONEY, sell her to a MAN.
(Or anyone)
There are so many articles about how these young children are dying... Being SOLD by their own families to MUCH older men.
What do you think little girls know about marriage? More over, what do they know about sex? I saw an article (Read it here) about an 8 year old dying from internal bleeding... It is sick. As a mother, as a WOMAN, it makes my stomach hurt!

2. Get rid of ALL nuclear weapons
- Why do we have them, if we shouldn't use them? I would have all these SUPER GENIUS' come up with a way to destroy them all. There is no need for them. ZERO reason to have them!

3. Send CRIMINALS to Mars
- I see how people want to go and live on Mars... Better idea... Send all the killers, rapists, and those guys who are marrying 8 year olds up there! Use them to build a World up there... I wonder if any of them would make it? I doubt it. I hate that there are SO many TAX dollars going to feeding, sheltering and educating people who have committed the biggest SINS whilst hard working people can barely make a living.

I think that 3 changes are enough for now. I will never be the President of the United States or Ruler of the WORLD... But if I was.........

Tips to help avoiding abduction in Kuwait

This post is mainly for women!

As many of you have seen... In the Middle East, being a women doesn't mean much! Women are treated more like OBJECTS then like human beings!

Unfortunately, Ethnicity also is a HUGE factor in how you are treated!

If you are an American, Canadian, or British you are treated better then Asians, Indians and Africans.
I am not sure why it is this way... But TRUST ME when I say that it is.

I read FAR too often how women are kidnapped, beat, raped or even killed.

Here are some tips to help avoid this.

1. Travel in a group! Do not walk around by yourself!!! There is a sense of power in numbers!

2. Do not dress Flashy or Trashy. We live in a very conservative country. Respect their culture

3. If you feel like you are being followed, find a security guard
(One day I was walking in Fahaheel. I saw a man 4 times in different locations... I started to pay attention and realized that he was following us (I was with my Nanny and daughter) I went into The X-Cite store and watched him for a bit, then I saw a group of Americans. It was 2 or 3 men and one woman. I asked them to walk us to the car, and they did) It is better to be safe... then to be sorry.

4. Pay attention to your surroundings. Look for landmarks. Look at the people around you. If you start feeling un-easy... Get out of that area

5. Do not take just ANY taxi. When you do take a taxi other than your usual, take a picture of the license plate or the placard behind the driver's seat. (If there isn't one, GET OUT of the CAR)

6. In the event that you are being attacked: FIGHT. SCREAM. Make a show! Hopefully it will scare them off or get you some help.

7. When you are driving and a man is trying to get your attention, keep your eyes FORWARD. DO NOT STOP THE CAR! I know it is scary, as they will get in front of you and push their brakes as well, IGNORE THEM. If you can, Get your phone out and take a picture, that generally gets them to BACK OFF!!!

In Kuwait,
Dial: 2389-9911 (On Post)

Dial: 112 (Off Post)

***Remember to always tell someone where you are going!!! And keep your CELL phone handy!!!***

If you have any other ideas that you might want to share... Please leave a comment!

Be Safe Y'all!
