Whose my Daddy

Sadly, I have no idea who my father is.
This is something that has always bothered me.
- Where did I get my height?
- Where did I get green eyes?
- Why is my skin fair?

I am often told that I look like my mother except she has dark skin, hair and eyes. My mother has never been too fond of talking about my father. I had to ask her several times in the same conversation to even get his first name... Finally- I know that my father's REAL name is RODNEY.

I was looking at my birth certificate one day and realized that the name on there is two names made as one...
My mother was still legally married when she had me... That means that I got that last name which was "GUSTIN"
The man she was married to was name "Kenneth Gustin" but the father of my youngest sister is David Beckley. The name on my Birth Certificate is "David Gustin"... You see... My mother put the first name of one man and the last name of the other.

I understand that in the 80's people were a bit wreck-less as I have a lot of friends who never knew their fathers as well.

I decided that I would do an Ancestry DNA kit. I ordered it when it was 20% off. So I paid 79.99! When I got the kit, I read the instructions and thought, I can put this much spit easily, then my mouth went dry. Maybe it was anxiety. Who knows! I couldn't wait to get it in the mail and on its way!
You shouldn't eat, drink or smoke 30 minutes prior to spitting!

Fast forward: I received my results. It took 7 weeks. I got the email, logged in and.... To say that I am SHOCKED is an understatement!!! Here are the results...

What I think is cool is... They show you matches. Like people who have the same or similar DNA. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR MEMBERSHIP TO SEE THIS!
I have contacted a couple people to see if they could be related on my father's side (Extremely High probability of 1-2 cousins) I have't heard back from anyone yet though.

Donald Trump... President?

Ok, I have been watching the news for the last year and I truly cannot believe that Donald Trump has made it to the Republican National Convention... I can NOT believe that he is the nominee for the Republican party.

Sadly, I feel like he is using fear of Muslims to gain followers. I think that if Donald Trump is elected, we as Americans will be the laughing stock of the World.

He is not polished or defined. I feel like he will throw tantrums and get a serious power trip! Every time I hear him speak, he only talks about how much people like him.

Read this article

How can he be so against immigration? His wife can hardly speak English! She does speak a few others though. Sure, She is a foreign, beautiful and a model... But that in my opinion doesn't make a first lady!
See her speak here
Or check out an interview here

Some people like the bluntness of Donald Trump, he says the things that other people are thinking. He sounds a bit sexist, racist and extreme in my opinion.

As I am listening to Rudy Guiliani slam Hilary Clinton on wanting to bring in the refugees from Syrian, I wonder how can we as a country be so cruel!

Enough of my opinions for now... I just can't believe this.

#DUMPTRUMP

I just don't think that he will be a great president. People always think things are so easy to change.

A whole new meaning to THIRST!!!

No, seriously, I want water all of the time! I am almost done with my 10 day shred!

I must say that I am hardly hungry and I am drinking more water then EVER before. I find myself with more energy. I am taking the twins to the mall and park… BY MYSELF! (I know, it's crazy!) I decided that I would show a before and after… I will use this after and make another in a couple of months to see results! Summer is coming QUICK!

This is my in July and again in December!

I would also like to talk about another type of thirst… A thirsty MAN! I DO NOT like being hit on when I am with my children… Story is as follows:

I took my 10 year old daughter, her friend and my 1 1/2 year old girl twin to the movies. The movie was late starting so I took my youngest outside to walk around. The movie was starting so I went back in. Before I could get to my seat, a man tapped my elbow. (I thought I lost Fat Mama's shoe) He told me that I looked good… I said thank you and then proceeded to my seat. There were two empty seats to my right… I put my daughter in one of them beside me. The man sat in the next seat… My little daughter starts to scream so I put her on my lap. The man then reached over and introduced himself to me and said, "You really do look great" Mind you… I am with 3 little girls!!! I am wearing regular clothes, no make up… My hair was a mess… I wasn't "seeking" any attention… Back to the story… So I watched the movie, he said a couple of things to me, I ignored him and kept my eyes straight up at the screen. After 5 minutes or so… He left. ISN'T THAT SUPER CREEPY? How rude! I was with children!

And I would also just like to say to the man who hit on me in WAL-MART in front of my 10 year old while he had his two kids…

YES, I did hear you… And I was ignoring you. Thank You for the kind compliment of me killing my pants and no, it wasn't intentional! LOL

Remember that a woman LOVES her kids… Treat her with respect in front of them!

Rant complete!

WOW It is 2016 already!

Today I stumbled across my blog and geez… I miss blogging! Chasing twins is a very busy job, but I have to get back to the basics! Doing what I love! I have to be happy to make everyone else happy!

I do not even want to recap the last 4 months of 2015… So moving forward… My New Year has been pretty good! I took the kids to Busch Gardens to celebrate New Years! It was a nice night.

Tomorrow the kids are starting their FSA testing! I pray that they do ok! In the state of Florida, if you fail, You might not be going to your next grade, though they do have a couple of "Just in cases" in place. ***FINGERS CROSSED***

Since I am completely always in MOM MODE… I decided that I would start driving for UBER. So far, I have made some pretty good money and met some interesting people! I will start taking time to write about those "experiences" because I have only driven 5 times, and BOY do I have some stories?!
I will seriously make a tab for that later!

I will be back! LOL. I will devote some time to this blog again!!!

I hope everyone had an AWESOME Easter! XOXO

No New Friends

Let me tell you about the friends I got! I can really count them on my hands. These are the woman that I most important to me... This is not in any order and I didn't put their real names because the nicknames I gave them are special...

1. Tiner Tot- She is relation... More like a sister. She helped raise me even though she isn't much older than me. She is a Super Woman to me! An inspiration to me. She is selfless and always available. I enjoy talking to her EVERY day. (Known her my whole life)

2. Cathy (Pink n Blue)- I have known her since 5th grade. We evolved together. From sharing lockers and doing hair to clubbing and then to motherhood. I can call her and tell her anything... And not feel bad. She likes her space and I don't mind. (Going on 20 years)

3. Shak- This lady was a co-worker. Everyone expected us to hate each other since we were both so strong minded... But the opposite happened. I spent a lot of time with her in Iraq after work. I haven't seen her in a long time but I sure do miss her and she still holds the title! (Almost 10 years)

4. Moni-  met her on the internet... Not in a freaky way but I was looking to lease an apartment at the complex she worked for. Things fell into place and we became instant friends. (7 years)

5. Yanny- We met when we were pregnant. She was having a boy and I was having Mimi. We were due around the same time. Her brother was my next door neighbor. I talk to her weekly and when we get together, time just flies. I love spending time with her. She is well versed in the Bible and cooking. (10 years)

6. Gabba- She is my newest addition... She is real, she is raw... She is loyal. I like that we are honest with each other. I do not judge her and she doesn't judge me. I can be myself and say crazy things without thinking. I like that.
(Our friendship is 3 years new)

7. My Demanding Dominican!- I used to work with her and do her hair. We always ended up at the same places. It is funny because we are a lot alike but so much different. I think I get to see a side of her that not many other people get to see. She rattles my cage and I rattle hers too. I give it to her straight and she does the same for me. I like that. (6 years)

Now- Understand that none of my friends live too close... So what to do? How do you find quality friends in your 30's? I am still feeling my way around the idea. I will continue trying to figure it out.

Seems like more and more Gustavo is becoming my MVP... He is getting better at being my husband and the man that I need him to be. That is only making me love him again. I guess our life has been a novela but thankfully it's starting to get to the good parts.

Amber has been GHOST

Yes, I just spoke of myself in 3rd person... I have not been on the BLOG in a long time. I love love love to blog and I have just let life get in the way. I can't say that things have been good... I can't say that they have been bad either... And that is only because I am trying to be optimistic! I will start writing more soon though!

Yes, I am back

Gustavo and I flew home to close on the house! YAY! We did a lot of painting… Almost every room has a color! I think that we accomplished a lot in a small amount of time. A lot of window blinds were put up as well! I think that I am a pro with the drill now.

We are back home… And happier then ever. We were stuck with a lot of delayed and cancelled flights due to the big winter storm that was happening in the North-East coast. That was a LONG 36 hours! I tell you that!

I honestly didn't want to leave! I found that being home was comfortable! Our area had EVERYTHING… So close. The drivers were so friendly. Strangely enough, We have Arab neighbors! They were very friendly. The neighborhood was very diverse. I loved that! I am sure that the kids will have plenty of people to play with there.

My home town is maybe an hour and a half away. I didn't make it to visit as I was very busy running around, plus… People really wanted to see the kids, and since we didn't bring them… They would have been disappointed. My cousin Stephanne and her daughter Danielle did come to visit us though and I was SO happy to see them!!!

I have two close friends that live in the area and Gustavo also has people he knows there… So… I think that we will be comfortable on the friend avenue as well. It was cool to just pick up the phone and be able to call my Bestie without thinking about the time difference!

A lot of people keep asking when we will be home for good. I would love to be able to answer that… I just can't. I want to keep our family together and if living in Kuwait is how it has to happen then… We will be in Kuwait! :)

It is so close to Christmas and it doesn't really feel like it. I am ready for the NEW YEAR!

NEW Beginnings! I am ready to put 2013 in my REAR VIEW mirror as it has been the WORST year of my life!!! My focus this coming year is my FAMILY! That is all!

House so far

We are building a house... It has not been an EASY project! It has actually been stressful. I am not sure if it is hard because we are in Kueait and building in Florida... Or if it is just normal while building.
I should be getting weekly updates and photos... But. I don't! I have been using only the Homebuilder Rep and I did not get a realtor.

Here are the pictures that I received a couple of weeks ago!
I am hoping to get an update soon. We are waiting to see what the shutters, stone accents and all the colors will look like!

Gustavo and I will be going home in November to close on the house. There is so much that still needs to be done!
To help knock out some of the small things. We have been ordering online and we have been sending the packages to my Bestie's (Tina Turner) house. We will send a POD to her house and then have it shipped to our house.
So far we have gotten:
1. The kids' bathroom stuff. (Nautical Theme)
2. Decor for Mimster's bedroom (Black, Pink and White: Paris Theme)
3. Decor for DJ's room (Space-The final frontier!)
4. Small paintings and accents for around the house
5. A fireplace:)
6. We got our bed clothes

I like to try and get the things that we like opposed to having to settle for what the store has. Plus- Buying EVERYTHING at once is a heck of a task!

I am tasking Gustavo to a Honey Do list when we arrive.
I feel awful that we are not taking the kids this time, but... I think that it is better. They just got back from America in August and it was 5k for the tickets! Since we are not going to be in the States very long, We decided that it was best for the kids to stay put. We will be doing a lot of running around and there will not be much for the kids to do.
(No TV, NO video games, No toys, ETC.)
I am so excited to get to the house and start decorating the house!
I have SO many ideas in my head!
I am really excited to see my family at home and I hope that I will be able to see them all!

Moving to the Tampa Area

Oh the time is nearing! It is time to CLOSE on the house. We decided to move to the Tampa Area.

I am a FloridianJ And I LOVE my Sunshine State! After a LOT of research; we chose TAMPA.

Why???

Well- Here are our TOP ten reasons:

1.  They have a NFL Team

2.  They have a MLB Team

3.  Theme Parks

4.  Beaches

5.  Good central location (close to Orlando, Miami and my hometown too)

6.  Military Contractors J

7.  MacDill AFB

8.  International Airport

9.  I think that the job market looks pretty promising!

10.        It is FLORIDA!!!

The house should be done in November! We are excited. We have been buying a lot for the house. We try to knock out a little every time that we get paid. I know that we will be busy so I do not want to have to be stressed out doing a lot of other things that need to be done as well. I would like to just close on the house… And start decorating and unpacking! Enjoy a bit of time with my family as I cannot recall how long it has been since we have been in Florida… I want to say…maybe since Mims was 2! So that is 5 years!!! Wow! Time has been FLYING!
