Potty Training Twins

Having twins is definitely harder than I thought that it would be. Each twin has a different personality.
My twins are almost TWO and we have began to potty train. Here are a couple of tips and hopefully they can save you a bit of time and money.

1. Do NOT go out and buy the fancy baby toilet.
I bought this toilet thinking, "The twins love Mickey and awh, it makes a flushing sound" My twins were always taking this toilet apart and now they use it as a stepping stool. 25 dollars... Gone

This is the type for training potty I would recommend.
There are different animals. I think I have a lady bug or something. The twins sometimes sit backwards on it and it works just the same. The only part that you can remove is the tray. 14 dollars, well spent!

This is the cheapest option and very useful as well! (around 8 dollars)

I use this more than anything else, but as you know, with two babies you will need a couple of options because they go into the bathroom together.

2. Is your baby ready to train?
Find out!
- Are they taking off their clothes?
- Do they take off their soiled diaper or appear fussy when wet?
- Do they appear curious when you use the restroom?

When I would change the dirty diaper, I would announce what I found. "Pee Pee or Poo Poo/Ca Ca" After a couple of days, they were also saying pee pee and ca ca.

3. Positive Reinforcement... I do not give treats or candy, I do however clap and cheer and say "Good Boy/Girl" "Big Boy/Girl" Now they are also clapping for themselves.

If they pee in the training potty, pour it into the regular toilet and let them flush the handle. We say "Bye Bye pee pee" I know that may sound weird but trust me, It works!

We also have a little jingle we sing, "Poo Poo in the pot-tay" or Pee pee... Whichever is needed for the situation!

You want this task to seem fun.

4. Start tracking when your toddler goes number 2. One of the twins goes in the morning after waking, The other around 10. So try to put them on the potty around those times.

When your toddler wakes, that should be the first stop. 15-30 minutes after juice, try to use the potty. Try again before and after nap.

I hope that these tips help you out! I know that there will be mistakes along the way but hang in there! You got this!!!

***If your child screams bloody murder when on the toilet, they might be scared or they just aren't ready. Try again in a couple of weeks!

GOOD LUCK!!!

WOW It is 2016 already!

Today I stumbled across my blog and geez… I miss blogging! Chasing twins is a very busy job, but I have to get back to the basics! Doing what I love! I have to be happy to make everyone else happy!

I do not even want to recap the last 4 months of 2015… So moving forward… My New Year has been pretty good! I took the kids to Busch Gardens to celebrate New Years! It was a nice night.

Tomorrow the kids are starting their FSA testing! I pray that they do ok! In the state of Florida, if you fail, You might not be going to your next grade, though they do have a couple of "Just in cases" in place. ***FINGERS CROSSED***

Since I am completely always in MOM MODE… I decided that I would start driving for UBER. So far, I have made some pretty good money and met some interesting people! I will start taking time to write about those "experiences" because I have only driven 5 times, and BOY do I have some stories?!
I will seriously make a tab for that later!

I will be back! LOL. I will devote some time to this blog again!!!

I hope everyone had an AWESOME Easter! XOXO

Fun in the Sun

Ok, It is Spring Break for us right now! YAY! I was planning to do something EVERY day but guess what? We are sick! Head colds are the worse. The twins are sick, Mimi is sick and Me too:(

We went to Busch Gardens and a Yankees vs. Red Sox game... But that was about it. Baseball Season is starting up so I am busy with DJ. We spend a lot of time at the field and I love it. I am actually, "TEAM MOM" Can you believe it? I am so excited about it.

The Twins are now 6 months old! I am loving them more and more everyday.

My sweet Mimi is now 9 years old. It breaks my heart that I do not have friends... Not many people showed up to the B-Day party... Her class mates did though. Next time I will not plan a party at a venue the beginning weekend of Spring Break. (NOTED)

DJ is growing up so fast. I love to see him playing ball and being excited about it.

Gustavo is making me proud with awesome ideas. He is building up his business and helping me with the twins. He really impresses me with the care he is showing the babies.

That is the update on me... And my life. I promise, I will do better and write more! In a way, I kinda wish I was anonymous... That way I could really say and write what I want... But sometimes that is no good either. I never want people to think that I am fake.

I do not have pictures on this computer so I will try to post some later.

XOXOX- ~A

Xylia was having some breathing problems, but I got her after a couple of hours! I did go into pre-term labor once, at 33 weeks but they stopped it, I did get the steroid shots for the twins lungs though... Here they are!!!
Me getting BIGGGGGG... I was 34 weeks here.
 Xylia and Xander
Xan the Man and CeeCee

Cervical Cerclage and Gestational Diabetes

Day 0: I went in to the hospital with both of the kiddos in tow… I had them stay up all night so they would be tired:) I got a room around 0815 and then was prepped… I didn't go in for the operation until about 1030. I was wheeled upstairs and straight in to the OR. I remember being put onto the OR table and my arms being put out like a cross onto lil jelly like pads for my wrists. It was now time to put my legs into the slings. I looked over and saw someone putting meds into my hand… And then… looking back at the lady who was struggling to get my left leg secure… That was it. LIGHTS OUT. The rest of the day was really a daze. I slept through the WHOLE day and Night. I remember seeing Gustavo…He helped me up to the bathroom and I got sick. I remember Mimi sleeping… And DJ leaving… But not much else…

If you DO NOT know what a cervical cerclage is… It is where they stitch up your cervix. It will help prevent pre-term labor.

Day 1: Not too much was going on. I moved rooms and had a little bit of pain.
Day 2: Same… None eventful
Day 3: I had to FAST… I was going to have a the Glucose Tolerance Test. I was woken at 0530… My blood was taken…. I drank the NASTY orange drink… And again my blood was taken. Again and Again! The doctor said if everything was good, I could leave… Well- That wasn't the case. My first results were high… And my second results were 12.5… I had to had insulin and begin having my blood drawn SEVERAL more times! I swear… If you were to look at my veins… You would feel SO Sorry for me! It looks like track marks! They were doing a sugar profile to ensure I was given the right dosage of insulin. That night, I gave myself my FIRST insulin shot and learned how to use the glucometer… (Maybe that is what it is called)
Day 4: I finally get to leave the HOSPITAL!!! YAY!

How do I feel about having Gestational Diabetes???
I am upset. It sucks. I have to poke my finger 6 times a day and take two insulin shots. I do not to eat any AWESOME ice cream… I have to CHART my pricks for my doctor… And honestly- I just feel crumby! One great thing… We got to see another U/S before I left the hospital and… Our shy baby… Looks like a GIRL! The doctor said he isn't for certain… But… It looks like we have a B/G set! I have to go back to the hospital tomorrow for an injection and then another appt on the following Saturday.

More to follow...

22 March 2014 Appointment

I took Mimster to the appointment with me today! I thought that it would be a great way for her to bond with her twin siblings! She is always kissing my belly so… Why not! She was very excited to see them on the screen and could recognize their body parts! Very cute! They told me that the baby on the LEFT is a BOY! This is the baby that is always moving around! The babies keep switching from A to B and B to A… So it is getting harder to keep track! The other baby didn't want to be bothered and even turned it's back to us! Their HBs were strong and steady! The baby boy's HB is 146 and Shy baby is 158!  All in all… A great scan! Maybe we will see the sex next time!

When I saw the doctor, we discussed my weight loss… My Blood Pressure and I told him I think that I might have a UTI! I drink so much water but it is like it is NEVER enough! I was given meds and sent urine to the lab… I will hear the results in a day or two.

My doctor told me that I will be getting a Cervical Cerclage… WHOA, What!? And that I would be staying in the hospital for 3 days! I am REALLY not looking forward to that! It is now more than EVER… time that I start looking for some part time help around the house. NO MORE LIVE INs though!

I will be sure to blog about the experience! I always hate going under!

Will there be more Menopur?

Tonight I will be getting my LAST dose of Menopur. (I hope!) I was directed to have 3 ampules: 1 water for 7 nights.

I am hoping that at my doctor's appt, that my eggs are going to be plenty and 20mm!
I have to get my blood drawn and then a scan.

How am I feeling???
- Emotional
- A bit bitchy
- Bloated
- Hot Flashes
- Soreness (My thighs)
- Head aches
- People piss me off... QUICKLY (Not the kids... Just the adults!)
- Cramping
- Some short SHARP pains in my stomach
- Lower back pain
- Tired

I have NO idea what they will say to me tomorrow. I just hope that it is good news! I hope that my doctor gives me some kind of answers.

Generally when I ask questions... My doctor always says, "Let's get this step done first"
***IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!***
I am glad that things are SLOWLY progressing!

Everyone in the house is waiting for this to happen! I already feel pregnant!

Oh Doctor...

We went to the doctor on the 10th to get our prescription... It was EXPENSIVE. 159.500 KD
(565.48 USD)
I have to take these for 7 days! I must go to the hospital to get these injections.
Gustavo will not be able to give me these injections... Joy oh Joy! I start these tonight. I will provide follow ons!
I am really feeling LOST in the process. My doctor hasn't given me a protocol... Or a timeline. I have been doing this about a month now. Medicine, hysterscopy, WANDA scans, period, More shots... SILENCE... And then more meds and shots.
I talked to another woman and she said that she went to the doctor and got shots in her stomach for 5 days... And Waaaaaaahhhh La... Egg Retrieval and Transfer... Preggo with Twins. (BOYS)
Even with the stuff that I am reading on the Internet... NOTHING matches the meds that I am given! I asked "Will I have a 3 or 5 day transfer?"... And he has the whole "Inshallah" attitude.
I never really get any answers...
(Woosa, whilst pulling upon my ear)
Practice my patience!!!
It is hard being a PLANNER and not being able to PLAN!

On a happier note!!! I get two days off to spend with my LOVELY family!!!
Seems like all of my teacher friends are off on FANTASTIC holidays! Enjoy EID! Have fun!

Guess What? IVF in Kuwait

Gustavo and I have been talking about having another baby since we have been married... We are never together long enough to make it happen though!

I tied my tubes when Mimster was born. I didn't think that I wanted more kids. She was a BIG surprise to me! And what a joy! She keeps us on her toes!
DJ is an easy kid. It doesn't take much to keep him happy!
I love them. They say a Mother's love only multiplies, never divides!

So- Let's start multiplying!

The first step: Get the swimmer's tested!
- I finally got Gustavo to go and spray some babies into a cup! It was very easy... You just walk in, get a cup, pay 23 KD (80.00 USD) Ummm, Release, and then in a couple hours, you have your results! Looks like Gustavo has some GOLD METAL SWIMMERS!!!! YAY!!!

Step Two:
It took me about a week... And a lot of research to decide to go in and see the doctor.
I waited for about an hour to see the doctor. He asked if I knew about IVF and I did. I broke it down the way I understood it... And clearly I was right. Then I met 'WANDA' I had an Ultra-Sound. (INTERNAL) He checked out my Uterus and said, "Looks good"

Okay- Now what?
- Hysteroscopy
- Start injections
- When my period comes, new injections
- Egg Retrival
- Egg Transfer
- Wait 2 weeks...
- Are we pregnant or Not???

Fast Forward a Day:
I got blood drawn. They took two vials to check out my hormones. My doctor said that I should get hysterscopy to check out my womb.
(Hysteroscopy is the inspection of the uterine cavity (or in my case WOMB) by endoscopy with access through the cervix) Basically- They are going to put a camera in my womb to make sure everything is okay in there.
That is a Minor Surgery... So I met with the anesthesiologist. He told me what to be ready for... then they gave me 2 pills to take in the morning of the hysteroscopy.

So I will be going in on the 18th to get that done... And then that night... I will get a class about injectables!

***To save time and money... I will have Gustavo do my injections. Bonding time!!!***

We are so excited! We have already picked names and we are hoping that we will get TWINS!!!

PS- I promise that if I use that cool IVF language, I will also have a break down or cheat sheet! That way you won't be lost like I was!!!

Wish us LUCK!!!
