My First 10 day Shred

After I had the twins, I must admit, I gained a bit of weight. I was about 225 lbs when I was breastfeeding. I lost 25 lbs and then gained a couple back but was a steady 202 lbs.

I plan to go to Vegas with a couple of ladies I know from Tampa in July. We have started a little weight loss competition. The final weigh in will be on July 15th. The winner gets a free dinner! So far I am in the lead, I have lost 5.3 lbs!

I feel like I can't get lower than this 197 lbs! Sadly when I stepped on the scale I was 202 lbs again!!!

So I decided to try this:

10 days of "Balls to the Wall" T30!

Take your Juice Plus Capsules or Gummies
2 Complete Shakes a Day
Half your bodyweight in ounces of water per day
30-60 minutes of exercise 4x per week
8 full hours of sleep per night
Eat your last meal by 6 pm
Breathing exercises
(DON'T STARVE YOURSELF. Eat if you're hungry!!)

No Gluten
No Dairy
No Caffeine
No Alcohol
No Artificial Preservatives
No Refined Sugar

I am on day one and I feel great! I have been cooking earlier in the day, around 3-4 pm. I had my shake for breakfast which consisted of:
- Chocolate powder
- A handful of almonds
- a tiny bit of coconut oil
- Rolled oats
- flax meal
- Water

I have Hummus and GF tortilla chips for a snack

Dinner was amazing!!!

I made teriyaki chicken with multi-grain medley rice!!! SO yummy!

I had another shake around 6 pm!
- Chocolate powder
- Chocolate Silk Milk
- ice, water
- Flax Meal

WOW It is 2016 already!

Today I stumbled across my blog and geez… I miss blogging! Chasing twins is a very busy job, but I have to get back to the basics! Doing what I love! I have to be happy to make everyone else happy!

I do not even want to recap the last 4 months of 2015… So moving forward… My New Year has been pretty good! I took the kids to Busch Gardens to celebrate New Years! It was a nice night.

Tomorrow the kids are starting their FSA testing! I pray that they do ok! In the state of Florida, if you fail, You might not be going to your next grade, though they do have a couple of "Just in cases" in place. ***FINGERS CROSSED***

Since I am completely always in MOM MODE… I decided that I would start driving for UBER. So far, I have made some pretty good money and met some interesting people! I will start taking time to write about those "experiences" because I have only driven 5 times, and BOY do I have some stories?!
I will seriously make a tab for that later!

I will be back! LOL. I will devote some time to this blog again!!!

I hope everyone had an AWESOME Easter! XOXO

No New Friends

Let me tell you about the friends I got! I can really count them on my hands. These are the woman that I most important to me... This is not in any order and I didn't put their real names because the nicknames I gave them are special...

1. Tiner Tot- She is relation... More like a sister. She helped raise me even though she isn't much older than me. She is a Super Woman to me! An inspiration to me. She is selfless and always available. I enjoy talking to her EVERY day. (Known her my whole life)

2. Cathy (Pink n Blue)- I have known her since 5th grade. We evolved together. From sharing lockers and doing hair to clubbing and then to motherhood. I can call her and tell her anything... And not feel bad. She likes her space and I don't mind. (Going on 20 years)

3. Shak- This lady was a co-worker. Everyone expected us to hate each other since we were both so strong minded... But the opposite happened. I spent a lot of time with her in Iraq after work. I haven't seen her in a long time but I sure do miss her and she still holds the title! (Almost 10 years)

4. Moni-  met her on the internet... Not in a freaky way but I was looking to lease an apartment at the complex she worked for. Things fell into place and we became instant friends. (7 years)

5. Yanny- We met when we were pregnant. She was having a boy and I was having Mimi. We were due around the same time. Her brother was my next door neighbor. I talk to her weekly and when we get together, time just flies. I love spending time with her. She is well versed in the Bible and cooking. (10 years)

6. Gabba- She is my newest addition... She is real, she is raw... She is loyal. I like that we are honest with each other. I do not judge her and she doesn't judge me. I can be myself and say crazy things without thinking. I like that.
(Our friendship is 3 years new)

7. My Demanding Dominican!- I used to work with her and do her hair. We always ended up at the same places. It is funny because we are a lot alike but so much different. I think I get to see a side of her that not many other people get to see. She rattles my cage and I rattle hers too. I give it to her straight and she does the same for me. I like that. (6 years)

Now- Understand that none of my friends live too close... So what to do? How do you find quality friends in your 30's? I am still feeling my way around the idea. I will continue trying to figure it out.

Seems like more and more Gustavo is becoming my MVP... He is getting better at being my husband and the man that I need him to be. That is only making me love him again. I guess our life has been a novela but thankfully it's starting to get to the good parts.

Fun in the Sun

Ok, It is Spring Break for us right now! YAY! I was planning to do something EVERY day but guess what? We are sick! Head colds are the worse. The twins are sick, Mimi is sick and Me too:(

We went to Busch Gardens and a Yankees vs. Red Sox game... But that was about it. Baseball Season is starting up so I am busy with DJ. We spend a lot of time at the field and I love it. I am actually, "TEAM MOM" Can you believe it? I am so excited about it.

The Twins are now 6 months old! I am loving them more and more everyday.

My sweet Mimi is now 9 years old. It breaks my heart that I do not have friends... Not many people showed up to the B-Day party... Her class mates did though. Next time I will not plan a party at a venue the beginning weekend of Spring Break. (NOTED)

DJ is growing up so fast. I love to see him playing ball and being excited about it.

Gustavo is making me proud with awesome ideas. He is building up his business and helping me with the twins. He really impresses me with the care he is showing the babies.

That is the update on me... And my life. I promise, I will do better and write more! In a way, I kinda wish I was anonymous... That way I could really say and write what I want... But sometimes that is no good either. I never want people to think that I am fake.

I do not have pictures on this computer so I will try to post some later.

XOXOX- ~A

Amber has been GHOST

Yes, I just spoke of myself in 3rd person... I have not been on the BLOG in a long time. I love love love to blog and I have just let life get in the way. I can't say that things have been good... I can't say that they have been bad either... And that is only because I am trying to be optimistic! I will start writing more soon though!

Cervical Cerclage and Gestational Diabetes

Day 0: I went in to the hospital with both of the kiddos in tow… I had them stay up all night so they would be tired:) I got a room around 0815 and then was prepped… I didn't go in for the operation until about 1030. I was wheeled upstairs and straight in to the OR. I remember being put onto the OR table and my arms being put out like a cross onto lil jelly like pads for my wrists. It was now time to put my legs into the slings. I looked over and saw someone putting meds into my hand… And then… looking back at the lady who was struggling to get my left leg secure… That was it. LIGHTS OUT. The rest of the day was really a daze. I slept through the WHOLE day and Night. I remember seeing Gustavo…He helped me up to the bathroom and I got sick. I remember Mimi sleeping… And DJ leaving… But not much else…

If you DO NOT know what a cervical cerclage is… It is where they stitch up your cervix. It will help prevent pre-term labor.

Day 1: Not too much was going on. I moved rooms and had a little bit of pain.
Day 2: Same… None eventful
Day 3: I had to FAST… I was going to have a the Glucose Tolerance Test. I was woken at 0530… My blood was taken…. I drank the NASTY orange drink… And again my blood was taken. Again and Again! The doctor said if everything was good, I could leave… Well- That wasn't the case. My first results were high… And my second results were 12.5… I had to had insulin and begin having my blood drawn SEVERAL more times! I swear… If you were to look at my veins… You would feel SO Sorry for me! It looks like track marks! They were doing a sugar profile to ensure I was given the right dosage of insulin. That night, I gave myself my FIRST insulin shot and learned how to use the glucometer… (Maybe that is what it is called)
Day 4: I finally get to leave the HOSPITAL!!! YAY!

How do I feel about having Gestational Diabetes???
I am upset. It sucks. I have to poke my finger 6 times a day and take two insulin shots. I do not to eat any AWESOME ice cream… I have to CHART my pricks for my doctor… And honestly- I just feel crumby! One great thing… We got to see another U/S before I left the hospital and… Our shy baby… Looks like a GIRL! The doctor said he isn't for certain… But… It looks like we have a B/G set! I have to go back to the hospital tomorrow for an injection and then another appt on the following Saturday.

More to follow...
