Gustavo and I have been talking about having another baby since we have been married... We are never together long enough to make it happen though!
I tied my tubes when Mimster was born. I didn't think that I wanted more kids. She was a BIG surprise to me! And what a joy! She keeps us on her toes!
DJ is an easy kid. It doesn't take much to keep him happy!
I love them. They say a Mother's love only multiplies, never divides!
So- Let's start multiplying!
The first step: Get the swimmer's tested!
- I finally got Gustavo to go and spray some babies into a cup! It was very easy... You just walk in, get a cup, pay 23 KD (80.00 USD) Ummm, Release, and then in a couple hours, you have your results! Looks like Gustavo has some GOLD METAL SWIMMERS!!!! YAY!!!
Step Two:
It took me about a week... And a lot of research to decide to go in and see the doctor.
I waited for about an hour to see the doctor. He asked if I knew about IVF and I did. I broke it down the way I understood it... And clearly I was right. Then I met 'WANDA' I had an Ultra-Sound. (INTERNAL) He checked out my Uterus and said, "Looks good"
Okay- Now what?
- Hysteroscopy
- Start injections
- When my period comes, new injections
- Egg Retrival
- Egg Transfer
- Wait 2 weeks...
- Are we pregnant or Not???
Fast Forward a Day:
I got blood drawn. They took two vials to check out my hormones. My doctor said that I should get hysterscopy to check out my womb.
(Hysteroscopy is the inspection of the uterine cavity (or in my case WOMB) by endoscopy with access through the cervix) Basically- They are going to put a camera in my womb to make sure everything is okay in there.
That is a Minor Surgery... So I met with the anesthesiologist. He told me what to be ready for... then they gave me 2 pills to take in the morning of the hysteroscopy.
So I will be going in on the 18th to get that done... And then that night... I will get a class about injectables!
***To save time and money... I will have Gustavo do my injections. Bonding time!!!***
We are so excited! We have already picked names and we are hoping that we will get TWINS!!!
PS- I promise that if I use that cool IVF language, I will also have a break down or cheat sheet! That way you won't be lost like I was!!!

So glad to see you blogging again! And I certainly wish you the best with the IVF. You and Gustavo really deserve some good news after the year you've been through together. But I'm sure you're both stronger and your marriage is stronger because of your hurdles :)

DeleteI don't know much bout ivf in Kuwait. However I was on an airplane w a woman caring for twins. She told me she got pregnant on first try w DR Patrick from London hospital and her friends who used him also had babies. I think everyone on first try but one of her friends did it twice. Its worth a go.

DeleteThe costs of the drugs was about 1000KD. As for everything else, you will have to ask while you are there. If you look under the tab of IVF you should be able to see how many eggs I had. I got pregnant the first round but sadly, it was a chemical pregnancy. I know that right now there are 4 embryos frozen there.

ReplyDeleteSadly Dr. Patrick is working w the ministry? The female Dr is doing ivf there but i dont trust her. 3 embryos and no pregnancy. Ive gotten pregnant w every transfer w less. Rushed she wore heavy perfume during transfer. Didnt feel professional.
DeleteI have to say, that London hospital is the worst place to do IVF in Kuwait! Dr Patrick is the one who makes false insurance cases and cares about money only, DR. Mona is the one who has no idea what women are going through being in this situation and it is really really hard to have deal with both of them. 2 trials, both failed. My biggest regret is that I chose this clinic

ReplyDeletePlease stay strong and remember you are always more likely to conceive when you are not stressed. We had gone through 7 failed IUI in Kuwait and 4 failed IVFs in India.
I read about Dr. Nahed Hammediah at New Mowasat hospital in Salmiya and he helped us succeed at his first attempt, which was our 5th IVF attempt. I would highly recommend him because he is a perfectionist and does his work very precisely.
