First Day of School!

I found myself COMPLETELY unable to sleep... Excited, Nervous... Scared... Happy! A great mix of emotion as I tried to sleep and be up bright and early to see the kids off to school!

Mimi slept in my bed... For some reason, she was on my side of the Bed:( So I had to inch her over.

We got up early and ate breakfast. Then it was off to school.

I took charge and found their names on the class lists and then... waited for DJ's Best Friend to arrive... I was so happy to see that they are in the same class... Then... Off to find the classrooms.

I had a pretty full house today! I love this group! I am not sure why but they all listen to me and that makes it easy!

After I picked them up from school!

 Since they were good... They got to get some ice cream!

When they are happy, I am happy too! There is just one thing missing from this wonderful day!!!

Summer

 I have been doing the homeschooling lessons for the kids this week. Gustavo and a Co-worker sent me these links to help me keep the kids sharp. I bought a lot of little books from LuLu's on EXIT 208 to also keep their minds moving. Summer can really drain the brain! Dj and Mims are still finishing up their school year. We are moving quickly:) We only get Friday off! I am so proud of them and they seem to love the extra work I bring home for them. They work with "Ms. Mommy" for 3 hours a day and then the practice worksheets, workbook assignments, after that... It is a free day.

I hope that the kids finish before the next school year starts. I want to send them to Summer Camp so they can have some fun.

Expats' Children Allowed to Enroll

‘No need to wait for completion of residence’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 6: The Ministry of Interior has agreed to allow the children of expatriates, who entered the country on dependent visas and are now waiting for the completion of the processing of their residence permits, to enroll in private schools and universities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting sources.
Sources explained the ministry took the decision in response to the request of its education counterpart. Sources said the decision allows expatriates to register their children without the need to wait for the completion of residence formalities — the usual cause of delay in the enrollment of foreign students. Sources added the decision is applicable only on those who have not exceeded the time limit mentioned in the visa for completion of the residence permit procedures.

 How come I am just seeing this? Gustavo and I took the kids down to register them at The English School Fahaheel http://www.skee.com/  they were given a test and guess what? They were accepted:) So our days of homeschooling are almost over. I have really been trying my hardest to keep them busy with school work. There is only one problem... Putting the kids in school in KUWAIT is very expensive. Like the cost of college tuition!!! I guess this is another sacrifice that must be made! Now I see why many Americans do not bring their families. I wish we would have brought them when they were younger!
